What is Toner and Why you need it in your Beauty Routine

Beauty Routines are a big part of our lives. We have our systems that work best for us and we do what we can to make ourselves look and feel better. Our blemishes, break outs and conditions make us have different practices and products to make sure that our skin reflects close to something that we can live with. Toner seems to be an afterthought in beauty yet it’s a product that can work wonders for all of us.

For the record, toner is supposed to improve the overall quality of your skin. Most people think that it’s only used to clear the skin of access oil. There are way more qualities than that. Let me tell you!

You need toner if:

  • You want to shrink your pores

Sometimes pores are overfilled and oversized. Covering them up with makeup can seem almost impossible and it makes for an uneven, caked foundation look. Using toner can reduce the appearance and give you a flawless finish.

  • Restore PH balance

The skin is naturally acidic. Soap can disturb the balance causing access oil to develop to try to restore the PH balance. Toner helps to restore this balance quicker, reducing the overabundance of oil and clogged pores

  • Moisturizes

Soap can strip the skin. At times, soap can be harsh on the skin, causing it to feel dry and stiff. Before you moisturize, the toner hydrates the skin and helps it not to feel stripped.

  • On the go cleansing trick

When your face feels oily, over heated, clogged, sweaty and just gross, toner can cleanse your skin on the go. Keeping some on hand after the gym or on a hot summer day can make a world of difference.

Toner has so many qualities that’s beneficial to any skin type. In a near future blog, we will talk about different types of toners and which ones may be best. In the meantime, here’s how you use it:

1st Cleanse the face and neck

2nd Towel Dry the skin

3rd Saturate a cotton ball with Toner and apply it to your face and neck. Let it dry

4th Apply your moisturizer of choice

…..And you’re all done. If you would like to apply makeup, please make sure you are through the first steps of your beauty routine and cleansing. There you go!

Happy Skin Care,
